As we blitz through the fantasy football season, injuries are building and defenses are getting better at gameplaning opponents. We will continue to guide you in the toughest start/sit options to win your Week 5 matchups and march onto Week 6 one step closer to the Championship.
Starts of the Week:
Kirk Cousins vs. Detroit: Detroit is not a good football team. They have had a consistent bottom 10 defense for years, and this season has been no different. With Kirk Cousins having two consistent wide receivers (WR) in Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen, he should have a Top 12 Quarterback (QB) performance in Week 5.
Darrell Henderson vs. Seahawks: The Legion of Boom is long gone, and Seattle’s defense is struggling. Having a bottom 10 run defense opens the door for running back Darrell Henderson to shine in a game that will likely be a shootout.
Michael Pittman Jr. vs. Ravens: With the Ravens missing key defensive players, and Michael Pittman being Colts QB Carson Wentz’s favorite target, expect a breakout in Week 5. The Colts have been falling behind early and having to throw the ball more than they would like. This also affects the Eagles draft pick for all of the Eagles fans out there. If Wentz plays 75% of snaps, the Eagles will get the Colts 2022 1st round draft pick.
Jonnu Smith vs. Texans: Look to the Patriots’ offense to have a field day against a poor Texans team and behind one of its prized offseason additions. Rookie Mac Jones has targeted his tight ends heavily in his young career. Jonnu Smith is the tight end one over Hunter Henry, and is a strong play in PPR leagues.
Sits of the Week:
Jimmy Garoppolo/Trey Lance vs. Cardinals: The biggest question mark for a great 49ers team is the QB position. They traded up to the #3 overall pick to draft Trey Lance, but have started Jimmy Garoppolo every game so far. Lance doesn’t play most drives, but has taken touchdowns away from Garoppolo. With a packed QB room, their love for running the ball and a strong Arizona defense, no QB on the 49ers should be in your starting lineup.
Miles Sanders vs. Panthers: So far during this young season, the Panthers have been at the top of the league in terms of their run defense. With the Eagles new coach Nick Sirianni heavily favoring the pass game, Miles Sanders should not be in your starting lineup this week.
Odell Beckham Jr. vs. Chargers: The Chargers have a top 10 pass defense, and held Chiefs superstar (WR) Tyreek Hill to under 60 yards. After coming back from a serious injury and Jarvis Landry potentially coming back to take the load off of him this week, we recommend having Odell Beckham Jr. on your bench.
Evan Engram vs. Cowboys: Evan Engram has struggled mightily catching the football and should not be in your starting lineup this week. The Cowboys defense has improved since last season, and they will target Engram with some other key Giants players out with injury.
