In the context of Women’s History Month, who is one woman who has positively impacted your life?
Elle Woods has positively impacted my life because she is part of the reason why I wanted to go to law school. And she is just an inspiration to women everywhere. She is proud of who she is and she’s not ashamed to be a strong confident woman.

My mom. She’s works at our county courthouse in Delaware County. She does a drug treatment program there. She really just lives her life in a way of service towards others and I think that’s a value that’s here at St. Joe’s a lot in that I try and live my life by being for others.

My mom. She’s like the little North Star–helps guide like everybody in my family. She sets a perfect example for all of us to look up to and she helps me no matter what every step of the way.
-Michael Covino ’24
My grandma, because she battled cancer multiple times and had many illnesses that she fought through. She was very inspiring through her battle and she stayed positive and helped out our family through it all.

My friend Chloe, because she never fails to make me laugh, and she exemplifies the perseverance that I would like to see in myself.
-Tenley Paga ’24
Condoleezza Rice, because she worked in the government and she was a conservative like I am, so she inspired me in a lot of ways.
-Jared Caldwell ’24
The woman that most impacted my life would definitely be my mom. She’s helped me through a lot of hard times and been with me for so much, so she means a lot to me.
-Josh Roney ’25
Frida Kahlo. I just felt like she put all of those stereotypes about how women should look behind her, and she just did what she had to do.
-Ashley Morales ’25
My mom. I grew up with just my mom and my sister so she gave her all to have us have a good childhood and give me the morals and person I am now. So I credit it all to her. [I’m] so very appreciative of her.

My high school AP Bio teacher, Joann Lilliendahl. When I went into her class, I hated science and then she made me fall in love with science and now I’m a bio major, and I’m really happy with where I am.
