From sweeping the Cardinals in the wild card series to being the only team to give the Astros two losses in the postseason, the Phillies may not have won the World Series, but they had an amazing run this past month. To honor their work, here’s a playlist to wrap up the Phillies season.

“Dancing on My Own (Tiësto Remix)” –  Calum Scott, Tiësto

It should come as no surprise that this song made the top of the list. The Tiësto remix of a rather depressing love song cover sung by Calum Scott has become the Phillies anthem of the postseason. Kyle Schwarber, who originally played this song during the 2021 postseason for the Boston Red Sox, decided to continue the tradition and showed the song to the Phillies. The team and the fans ran with it,  bringing fans across the city together to dance with each other, rather than on their own.

“Centerfield” – John Fogerty 

Released in 1985, this ballgame fan favorite encapsulates the dream of every tee ball player who hopes to one day make it to the big leagues. The claps sporadically placed throughout the song, mixed with the background beat of the drum and the strum of the guitar can have anyone tapping their feet. The lyrics reflect the excitement, encouragement and eagerness everyone can feel at a ball game.

“Philadelphia Freedom” – Elton John 

Released in 1977, this song serves as a love letter to the City of Brotherly Love. Through the perspective of a Phillies fan, the lyrics “Oh, Philadelphia freedom, shine on me, I love you” might remind us of third baseman Alec Bohm’s line in the postseason saying, “I love this place.” This song may not scream “take me out to the ball game,” but it does scream Philadelphia pride.

“A-O-K” – Tai Verdes

There’s no one way to pick the best walk-up song of the 2022 season, but Bryson Stott’s song has to be high on the list. The song first gained popularity back in 2021 when songwriter Tai Verdes released an audio clip of the song on TikTok. This R&B, soul and pop song encompasses the joyful aspects of life and how at the end of the day, win or lose, everything is going to be “A-O-K.”
