We have created this special issue of The Hawk to contribute to the many conversations happening during the fourth annual Day of Dialogue. The Hawk recognizes the importance of having thoughtful, productive and even uncomfortable conversations about diversity, equity, inclusion and representation.
Our stories this week reflect in varying degrees the themes of Day of Dialogue 2023: Allyship, Advocacy & Agitation; Identities & Intersectionality; (In)Equity in Our Communities; Social & Environmental Justice; Global & International Perspectives; Health, Wellness & Wellbeing; Media & Representation. In every other issue, The Hawk staff works diligently to represent and to tell stories about all who make up the St. Joe’s community. In this issue we center 2023 Day of Dialogue themes in all sections of our issue. On our front and back pages, we feature images of people who will be presenting in Day of Dialogue sessions and some who signed up to attend sessions.
Thank you for reading The Hawk. We will return to our regular issue next week.
On behalf of The Hawk staff,
Natalie Brislin
