“We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off” – Ella Eyre
A dance party alone in your room would be the best way to describe the vibe of the 1986 hit by Jermaine Stewart. While the variety of upbeat instrumentals in the background may have us tapping our toes, it is hard to fully comprehend the message being expressed. “Waiting for Love” – Sam Fender
From a flashy club track to a grunge, indie pop song, the UK native, Fender put his own twist to Avicii’s 2015 hit. Although Fender is new to the music industry, and his name may not be as known as others on the list, he does not hesitate to make this song his own. By changing the melody to be less popish and more sultry, he allows listeners to soak up the lyrics and understand the yearning pain of waiting around for love.
“Proud Mary” – Tina Turner
Starting from taking it nice and easy in a slow opening narrative, to finishing fast and rough, Turner made this original Creedence Clearwater Revival song her own, to the point where a lot of listeners believe she is the original creator of the 1970s hit. It’s no secret that once the song reaches 2 minutes and 34 seconds, everyone in the room will be tapping their toes, snapping their fingers and swaying their arms back and forth.
“Dive” – Luke Combs
With five studio albums and 17 EPs, it’s not surprising that Ed Sheeran has an abundance of songs that have been covered over the years. However, one unique version of his 2016 song “Dive” is country singer Luke Combs’ take on it. The “Beautiful Crazy” singer adds a country twang and soulfulness to the song which highlights the passion that comes with diving headfirst into love and putting your all into a relationship.
