After weeks of searching, multiple interviews and fans desperate for change after the removal of offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, Philadelphia Eagles fans got the change they wanted. The Eagles announced Jan. 29 that Green Bay Packers quarterback coach Sean Mannion will fill the role of offensive coordinator.
Mannion, 33, will join the two-time Super Bowl champion organization with high expectations to turn the ship around after its quick first-round exit from the 2025 NFL playoffs. He will be quarterback Jalen Hurts’ sixth offensive coordinator during his career with the Eagles.
Mannion spent two seasons with the Packers, first as an offensive assistant in 2024 and then as the quarterbacks coach in 2025. Drafted in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft from Oregon State to the St. Louis Rams, he played professionally as a quarterback with multiple organizations. Mannion had a quick move to coaching after his playing career; he played in the NFL on the Vikings and Seahawks practice squads in 2023, then transitioned to coaching in 2024.
Under Mannion’s coaching, Packers quarterback Jordan Love completed 66.3% of his passes and threw for 3,381 yards. The Packers had two back-to-back playoff appearances — 2024 and 2025 — while Mannion was with the organization.
Mannion arrives in Philadelphia inheriting a team that is championship hungry with 2025 Super Bowl MVP quarterback Jalen Hurts, 2025 Offensive Player of the Year running back Saquon Barkley and two wide receiver weapons, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Mannion has much to work with and team depth to get the Eagles back to the Super Bowl.
