As retaliatory missiles strike the genocidal state of Israel, each explosion makes me realize how far gone our “great” nation really is. The United States’ willingness to support Zionist and Israeli needs roots back over 100 years but is constantly perpetuated today, especially by our president.
Trump is a very selfish “leader,” which explains why he is so willing to launch his country into a pointless war that will result in the deaths of potentially hundreds to thousands of Iranians and Americans. He doesn’t care for his country, nor does he care for stopping wars.
As each day progresses, it becomes more and more relevant that this man should never have been elected president, and, in my opinion, everyone who still supports Trump today cannot consider themselves good people.
I believe supporting a racist, homophobic, transphobic, lying accomplice to genocide reflects your character. Trump has done too much harm and has led the nation down too deep of a pit for people to still support him for his policies, tax cuts or any other false promise.
Choosing to stand behind someone evil makes you complicit in a sense. I have the same feelings in regard to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. Anyone who still serves within the Department of Homeland Security is not a good person and doesn’t truly believe in creating a safer country, and they do not deserve to go unpunished. At the end of Trump’s administration, I believe he, many ICE agents and many members of his administration should be prosecuted for their actions and statements during his reign as president. People who valued commands over morals should be held responsible for their support of authoritarianism.
I also pray the next president to take over has the backbone to begin distancing our country from our “greatest ally” in Israel, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, whose name has become synonymous for genocide and whose nation continues to perpetuate hate and evil. I believe it’s important to hold people who support evil accountable for their roles in perpetuating evil.
