The music industry has been booming recently, with numerous artists dropping new singles, EPs and albums. With many new tunes hitting the scene, it might be hard to sort through all of them. So, to help, here are six new songs from The Hawk that are worth a listen.
“ALLIIGATOR TEARS” – Beyoncé
Going back to her Texas roots, Beyoncé recently dropped a country album, “COWBOY CARTER,” and made history by being the first Black woman to lead the Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. While Beyoncé established herself as a jack of all trades in the music industry with all of the songs on this album, “ALLIIGATOR TEARS” is a standout hit. A country melody with soul influences, this song is a great introduction to the world of “COWBOY CARTER.”
“On & On & On” – Maggie Rogers
Two years since her last album, Maggie Rogers has returned to the music scene with her new album “Don’t Forget Me.” This new album has graced the indie scene with many gems worth listening to, but a personal favorite is “On & On & On.” Reminiscent of an early 2000s indie pop tune, this song is the perfect take on a more acoustic sound among modern music.
“Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me” – Khalid
His first new song in almost a year, Khalid also makes a return to the R&B genre with his hit “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me.” True to his sound, this song is loaded with soulful beats to dance along to. Preparing to release an album this year, Khalid’s new hit is a great place to get excited for the new album that will hopefully be dropping soon.
“Cherry On Top” – Ben Platt
In preparation for the drop of his third album, “Honeymind,” in May, Ben Platt recently released two singles for fans to listen to. A warm and fuzzy pop-folk song, “Cherry On Top” is all about a sweet love. As always, Platt’s vocals never fail to disappoint, and this song sets the stage for a great upcoming album.
“Espresso” – Sabrina Carpenter
A growing star in the pop girl genre, Sabrina Carpenter decided to drop a new song for her fans just before her upcoming Coachella debut. “Espresso” is a retro-sounding pop masterpiece filled with three minutes of upbeat, groovy melodies. Bound to be a radio hit, “Espresso” is a great addition to Carpenter’s discography and ready to be the next major song of the summer.
“Eye of The Night ” – Conan Gray
With his new album, “Found Heaven,” Conan Gray has completely shifted his music to encapsulate an ’80s pop sound. Even if you prefer his older emotional pieces, there are many songs to enjoy on this new album. To ease yourself into this musical transition, “Eye of The Night” is a great bridge between his older music and his new sound. This song utilizes both his usual pop melodies with major influences from his synth-pop sound.
